Throughout time food has been a centerpiece of every culture. It connects people to their communities, to their land, and to themselves. We want to develop a vision of a sustainable society in which food and health are central, and we want to build this vision together with help from food producers, artists, and an online-offline community enabled by modern technology.
It’s impossible to overstate the challenge we face in this endeavor. The global food sector is the number one threat to many planetary systems that maintain a safe operating space for humanity, e.g., biodiversity, nutrient availability, and fresh-water use. At the same time, the food system also provides one of the greatest opportunities for intentionally regenerating earth’s ecosystems by rebuilding soil and habitat.
We believe that education and service go hand-in-hand with rebuilding a sustainable economy and generally seek solutions that combine efforts across private and public sectors, often initiated from within higher-education.
